Caring for your feet

In my reflexology practice, I have
come across many pairs of dry feet, some with heels so dry and cracked
that they bleed. This can be quite painful. Other common places that I
have found dry, sometimes cracked, skin are on the shins, knees, elbows
and hands. The skin is often tighter and/or thinner over these areas. It
is for these conditions that I made up the special formula for futspa
foot and hand cream.
Dry skin, Calluses, Diabetes, and futspafoot
cream.
Dry skin can happen on any
part of our body. The soles of our feet are particularly susceptible to
being dry as they are without sebaceous (oil) glands, which lubricate our
skin. These glands secrete sebum which prevents the evaporation of
moisture from the skin. Since our feet lack this oil, we must take extra
care of them.
Calluses are hardened,
thickened places of skin that are usually found on your feet and heels.
They can be softened by filing down on a regular basis, and by soaking
your feet in a foot bath with a couple of squirts of futspafoot soap in
the water. This softens the feet and cleans away bacteria that can lead to
athlete’s foot. After the soaking (about 5 minutes), dry and apply futspa
foot cream.
Diabetes is a condition that
requires extra care. If you have diabetes, you must be careful when
soaking your feet. Use your hand to determine that the water is not too
hot before you put your feet in. Soak each foot for no more than five
minutes at a time if you have diabetes, as the skin may become too soft
and this can result in damage between the toes. If this does happen,
futspafoot and hand cream should be used on these areas right away.
